Our Teachers
Javzandamba Khutagt Center is served by a faculty of learned monastic teachers with advanced training in Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language, formed through many years of study at respected institutions in Mongolia and abroad.

Geshe Lharampa Tubten Namdag
Teacher of Buddhist Philosophy
From 1992 he studied the five volumes of Choir, the principal scriptural curriculum, over six years at Sera Je Monastic University in India, completing 22 years of study in the higher scriptural tradition. He earned the Lharampa degree in Buddhist philosophy in 2012, taking first place in the Gaarampa, Lovon and Lharampa examinations. He then studied secret tantra for one year at Gyudod Tantric College and earned the Ngagrampa degree in 2016, placing first in the examination. He returned to Mongolia in 2014 and continues to teach monks and lay practitioners at Javzandamba Khutagt Center and at the Idgaachoinzinlin Datsan of Gandantegchenlin Monastery.

Khensur Gavj N. Nanzaddorj
Teacher of Buddhist Philosophy
He studied Buddhist philosophy at Dashchoimpel Datsan of Gandantegchenlin Monastery (1990–1995) and at Gomang Datsan of Drepung Monastery in India (1995–2005), earning the Gavj degree in Buddhist philosophy in 2008. From 2005 to 2016 he held senior positions including presiding administrative lama of Gandantegchenlin Monastery, head of the office of the IX Bogd, and deputy abbot. He has taught at Dashchoinpel Datsan since 2005, at Javzandamba Khutagt Center since 2013, and at the G. Zanabazar Buddhist University since 2024. He is a member of the National Council of the Mongolian National Public Radio and Television.

Gavj D. Nyamsambuu
Teacher, beginner courses and mindfulness programme
He studied at Dashchoinpel Datsan of Gandantegchenlin Monastery (1992–1995) and at Drepung Monastery in South India (1995–2005), earning the Gavj degree in Buddhist philosophy in 2006. He taught at the Buddhist Higher School attached to Gandantegchenlin Monastery in 2005–2006. From 2019 to 2021 he completed a Master’s in Religious Studies at the University of Bristol and trained as a mindfulness teacher at the University of Oxford, and now leads the centre’s mindfulness programme for the public.

Geshe Dr. (PhD) Z. Luvsangenden
Teacher of Tibetan language, terminology translation and Buddhist philosophy
He studied at the Buddhist higher course (1990–1992), the Undur Gegeen Zanabazar Buddhist Higher School (1992–1995) and Gomang Buddhist University in India (1995–1998), then studied Pramana and Prajnaparamita from 1998 to 2004, earning the Geshe degree. He subsequently earned a Master’s in Linguistics at the University of the Humanities (2014–2016) and a PhD in Cultural Studies at the Mongolian Academy University in 2024. He has taught at the Zanabazar Mongolian Buddhist University since 2005 and at Javzandamba Khutagt Center since 2016.
